State of the Game: July 6th, 2017

Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission:

Last week on State of the Game, Community Developers Yannick Banchereau and Hamish Bode were joined in the studio by Live Producer Kevin Goyon to discuss the launch of the PTS for Update 1.7 and new additions such as Encrypted Caches and the character customization room.

It was a solo show this week, as Yannick provided an update on how the PTS has been going so far, as well as info on the newly deployed PTS 2. You can view the VoD below!

This week’s routine maintenance included a fix for an issue which made it possible for players to glitch through walls in the Dark Zone.

We are also running a double rewards event this weekend! Starting on July 7th at 00:01 UTC, Agents will earn twice as much loot from daily assignments. This rewards increase will end on July 10th at 00:01 UTC.

We are very happy with how the PTS has been going so far! We have received great feedback from our players which will help us make meaningful tweaks moving forward. One big topic of discussion since the beginning of the PTS has been the powerful Striker Classified set. We realize that the set is in need of balancing, however the intention is for the player to really feel the difference when equipped with a full 6-piece Striker set.

Agents will have to work a bit harder for the Classified sets after the PTS, as they will be harder to acquire in the full Update 1.7. In the meantime, the Striker set’s healing effect has been reduced for PTS 2, which has just gone live. The updated PTS also comes with a host of bug fixes, and you can see them listed in our full PTS 2 patch notes. We would love to hear your thoughts on these changes, as well as our other Classified Sets, in our official PTS forums!

The PTS’ first Global Event “Outbreak” is now active, focusing on headshots! Agents can get involved in the event from today to July 9th and again from July 11th to 12th.

Join us next week on Twitch for talk about the latest PTS developments.

We know that console gamers have been eagerly awaiting the start of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One public test servers. Rest assured that you will be able to get to grips with the PTS next week! Agents who have been selected to take part will receive an e-mail invitation next week, and pre-loads will be enabled. The consoles will start out on the PTS 2 build around the same time that PC players receive PTS 3, and all platforms will end their PTS runs at the same time. Global Events will also be active on consoles!

Finally, in response to your requests we would like to clarify the eligibility criteria for these public test servers:

Our selection process considers Uplay accounts with valid e-mail addresses which were active in the game within a 30-day period which ended last week. These players are then ranked by their playtime since the game launched last year. All eligible players will receive an access key via e-mail, and we’ll be sending out 10,000 invites to PS4 and Xbox players respectively.

Thank you very much to everyone who has taken part in the PTS until now! We look forward to hearing your feedback as the testing phase progresses.

As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forums or on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.

Until next time!
