State of the Game: April 29th, 2016

29/04/2016 06:00 PM

Greetings Agents!

Yesterday's maintenance has come and gone, and on a Thursday for the first time! The reason we switched to a Thursday is to allow the dev team to have a bit more time to work on fixes.

For everything we discussed yesterday morning, check out the State of the Game stream!

We have fixed a number of game breaking bugs last week, such as Double Reviving and Talent Stacking.

Yesterday, we tackled the remnants of the Rehabilitated Talent bug, as well as Protection from Elites.

For more info on what was fixed in yesterday's maintenance, please check out the changelog.

Of course, the effort doesn’t stop there and the team is continuously working on fixing any game breaking bugs that are present!

While we have compensated players last weekend for the Missing Daily Hard and Challenge Modes, we will be compensating players who were affected by the Crafting/Infinite Loading issue as well as players affected by the Missing Characters issue we had on Xbox One in a few days.

No action needs to be taken by the players in this case.

Simon is still cooped in the ISAC hub, check out what he requires from you this week!

To recap, this week’s assignment:

  • Collect 30 Tools
  • Kill 50 Rikers in the Dark Zone
  • Kill 20 Elite NPC’s
  • Complete 10 Main Missions on Hard Difficulty

The reward for completing the weekly assignment is 30 Phoenix Credits.

We just want to reiterate that the team will continue working on bugs and exploits to fix them as soon as possible.

We have listened to the discussions regarding exploiters, and have adapted a stronger stance. To learn more about our stance regarding exploiting and a change to the cheating sanctions, please read a this article.

Some key points found in the article are the following:

“In the future we want to give you clearer and more concrete visibility. Should new bugs be discovered, we will quickly take a firm stance and confirm if these are considered as exploits. All known exploits will be clearly listed in a public forum thread and across our various communication platforms. We want all players to be informed”

“Sanctions for newly found exploits will vary depending on the severity of the abuse as well as the history of the player. They could go from character rollbacks to account suspensions and permanent bans”

“When cheaters are caught, we will now apply a suspension of 14 days on first offense, instead of the initial 3 days suspension. Second offense will always be a guaranteed permanent ban”

To be in line with our stance, we’re also amending our Code of Conduct.

We’ve also implemented some new cheat detection methods, and as such we are preparing a substantial wave of suspensions coming. This is a result of our ongoing efforts to improve our tools, which we will continue to do.

In other news, we’d like you to know we’ve been following the many discussions about our loot systems. There have been many interesting topics raised, and you might see some things soon.

We are aware of some bugs and issues that are still found in game and haven’t been addressed today, including the following:

  • Talents (One is None, Reckless, etc.)
  • In-game chat spam
  • Infinite loading with the Falcon Lost Incursion
  • Player talent stacking

We are of course working on fixing these, and will offer more information regarding the progress on these in the future.

We’re also aware that the daily missions have caused some irritation when the same mission was chosen for a number of days. The system will be changed with the next update, to guarantee rotation.

The Two Scotsmen – Hoodoo_Operator made a brilliant cinematic. Well done!

RedHorizontStudio (RHS) made an awesome live action short film. Mind you it’s in Polish, but it does have English subtitles!

And finally, Stonemountain64 took on Bliss. We do wonder if he ever drank that soda though?
