29/09/2016 05:00 PM

Greetings Agents!

The last State of the Game was packed full of information regarding the new World Tier system that we are introducing with Update 1.4.

As we continue to get closer to Update 1.4 we want to share more details regarding some changes that are coming to your Agent’s Stats, Gear, and Skills with Update 1.4 in our latest Dev Blog. Check it out here!

We also hosted a Special Report live stream to talk about Update 1.4 as a whole and share some more details about the changes coming with it. You can find the full VOD below!

Finally, below you’ll find everything discussed on the State of the Game stream this morning, where we sat down with game designer Fredrik Thylander to discuss the changes to gear and weapons coming in 1.4.

Today’s maintenance was used to further improve server optimization, stability, and clean up the data bases.

After a successful technical test, the Public Test Server opened up to the public earlier this week! All The Division PC players are now able to download the PTS client on uPlay and Steam, try the changes we’re making with Update 1.4 and give us feedback and bug reports. Today, your characters from the live game have been copied over to the PTS, so you can try out them out and how the gearing up and farming works in 1.4. This week we’re aiming to test the gear conversion between 1.3 and 1.4 and how the end-game at World Tier 4 works. Read more about it in our latest Agent Brief for September 29.

We’ve opened dedicated forums for the PTS, so join us there and tell us about your experiences! We’re getting a lot of posts right now, which is awesome, but please use the search function before you post and see if there’s already a thread dealing with your idea/issue and add to that instead. It makes it easier for us to keep track and make sure we don’t miss anything!

We’re also continuously updating our PTS patch notes on the forums, so you can easily keep track of what’s happening on the PTS.

If you would like to know how to gain access to the PTS check out this post. For more general information, please visit our PTS FAQ.

With the PTS rolled out, we are super excited for what Update 1.4 and the future holds. We still don’t have a release date for the update just yet, as we want to push for the best possible quality and not commit to anything too early.

As always, we can’t get enough of your great suggestions and community involvement. Visit our forum’s Suggestions & Feedback section if you have any great ideas to share!

Performance Mods

There’s been some confusion regarding the new Performance Mod slots being added to gear in Update 1.4. Much of that is down to the UI being unclear about what mods go where; that’s being addressed in the next PTS build, which hopefully make things easier to understand and much more intuitive to use.

Character changes

There’s been a lot of discussions about how the changes we’re doing in 1.4 will impact your current character. Many of the changes we’re doing will be retroactive, meaning you won’t be able to save old “legacy” gear that will be overpowered with the new game balance and that some aspects of your current gear might be rerolled, but our aim is to make you feel more powerful overall when Update 1.4 finally hits. If you want to know more about what will happen to your gear, weapons and talents make sure to read the latest patch notes, or – if you’re on PC – download the PTS client and try them out for yourself!

Weapon damage balance

A hot topic this week has been the new weapon balancing we’re trying out on the PTS. One major point of discussion especially were the changes we made to SMGs. We’re listening to your feedback, and some changes have already been made in the latest PTS update. Do remember that everything on the PTS is work in progress and subject to change – a good reason to get involved in the discussions on the PTS forums!

As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forums or on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.

Until next time!
